Those old X-Men stories…

…really were that freaking creepy.
(Colossus does eventually rebuff Kitty’s plea for underage loving in this Uncanny X-Men #165 sequence, but it doesn’t negate the fact that he is biding his time for her fruit to ripen to a non-actionable age.)

I was 14 or so when these were being published. I was too busy dealing with my own crush on Kitty to be properly skeeved out by the age issue with Colossus.
But in retrospect, kind of wrong.
What else from my developmental years do you want to ruin next Andrew? My crushes on Julie Newmar and Yvonne Craig?

There is nothing wrong with crushed on Julie Newmar and Yvonne Craig.

We were all biding our time for Ms. Pryde to come of age in those days. At least those without a crippling Jean Grey fixation.

I think we all went through that phase when we were young where Claremont was the greatest thing ever (at least those of us who were young while he was writing X-Men). Then little by little you started realizing just how creepy he was.

How old was Pyotr supposed to be again at the time, eighteen or so? Creepy, but not that creepy.
And perhaps not that unusual for the target audience, of about the same age as Kitty…
