Archie Andrews…

…will tumble 4 ya. He’ll tumble 4 YOU.

Confused? Disturbed? Strangely aroused? Blame Archie #336 (released in June 1985 and reprinted in Archie Americana Series: Best of the Eighties), in which Jughead convinces America’s Favorite Teenager that the easiest way to win a music store costume contest is to dress up as Boy George — excuse me, Boy Roy, just one of the many thinly veiled celebrity analogues to bump shoulders with the Riverdale gang during the Reagan Era. (Others included Michael Jackstone, John Revolta, Bruce Bingstone, and J.J. Allwin and the Skunktrucks.)

I can’t say much for Archie’s fashion sense, but his taste in music is impeccable. I happen to be a huge fan of /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ myself.

Her solo material is harder to find, but it is vastly superior than the stuff she recorded as a member of /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ & the @@@@@@@@s.

Recommended listening: Take a wild guess.
