Sanity’s rare this end of the hard day

It’s January 19 in the Bay State, and you know what that means…
…and much like Arcadia’s solitary hit, the lead up to today’s special senate election has been irritating, overplayed, and a depressing follow-up to the precursor act.
I’ll leave the substantive commentary to pals (and fellow Mass. residents) Dave Lartigue and P.J. Carroll, but I would like to congratulate the GOP for running a campaign and candidate so utterly loathsome that I was willing to pinch my nose tightly and cast a ballot for Martha Coakley. If this Scott Brown thing doesn’t pan out, they should consider getting jobs with the DNC’s strategy team.
Oh, if you are one of the folks who thought they were “sending a message” to Washington by voting for a weak clone of George W. Bush, the only message you sent was that you’re the type of person who can’t be trusted to pull your pants down before taking a shit.

To share the page with Dave makes up for the vote that I was loathe to cast.

“you’re the type of person who can’t be trusted to pull your pants down before taking a shit” – fucking hilarious! Please book yourself into the Edinburgh Fringe or some shit so I can see you delivering lines like that on stage – I’ll pay and everything.
Oh ye, and don’t vote. It only encourages them (but you knew I’d say that).
